Factory Reset Yealink Wireless Handheld Phone Base Stations

There are two methods in which we can factory reset a Base station. From a 1) paired wireless handheld phone, and from a 2) base station

Method 1 - From a paired wireless handheld phone

This is the preferred and easiest ways to factory reset a base station.

There are few cases where you would need to use the factory reset method 2. If the base station is malfunctioning to the point where the handheld phones are not communicating, then you will need to use method 2.

With power connected to the device, and the idle screen visible:

1. Press the  OK  button to enter the menu.

2. Navigate to the Settings menu and press OK. (or press 6 on the keypad)

3. Scroll down to  System Settings   and press OK. (or press 8 on the keypad)

4. Scroll down to Base Reset and press OK.

5. Enter the phone PIN (default is 0000) and press OK or Done .

6. Press OK for Reset to Factory .

7. Press OK or Yes to confirm Reset base to factory settings now .

The phone will display a Success message.

8. Wait for approximately 2 minutes for the device to set itself back to factory default settings and reboot.

Your base station has been successfully reset and you may now make a test phone call.

Method 2 - From the base station

With power connected to the device, and the idle screen visible:

1. Disconnect power from the base station.
Disconnect any cables plugged into the back of the base station. The possibilities are 1 ethernet cable or 1 ethernet cable AND 1 power adapter.

2. Wait for 15 seconds

3. Press and hold down the Connect button on the front of the base station.

4. With the  the   Connect  button on the front of the base station still being pressed, reconnect the ethernet cable and power adapter (if equipped).

5. When all 3 lights on the front of the base station are illuminated/on and not blinking (solid green color LEDs), let go of the Connect button.

6. Wait approximately 5 minutes

7. Disconnect power from the base station again.

8. Wait 15 seconds.

9. Reconnect power

It is expected that you will need to reconnect/re-pair any wireless handheld devices to the base station now. You will have an indication on the wireless handheld device(s) if it displays a message that it is un-paired or un-registered.
Skip the following steps for any wireless handheld device that are paired after the factory resetting of the base station. The easiest method to know if it is still paired to the base station is successfully making a phone call.

10. Press the Connect button on the base station for approximately 3 seconds until the connect LED starts blinking .

11. On the wireless handheld device press the OK softkey to register the handset to the base.

12. With Register Handset selected in the menu press OK .

13. With Base 1 selected on the Replace Base menu, press press OK .

13. After the wireless handheld phone finds the base station listed on the Subscribe Base menu, press OK .

14. Enter the  phone   PIN  (default is 0000).

The handheld device will now subscribe (pair) with the base station and then initialize data, which will take approximately 15 seconds.

Your base station has been successfully reset, your  wireless handheld phone  are paired with the base station, and you may now make a test phone call.

Perform steps 10 through 14 on all wireless handheld phones.
