Custom Backgrounds/Images

Background Image Requirements

Each phone model has it's own image requirements. See the following table for the requirements for your specific model(s)

Phone Models
T46G, T46S, T54W
T48S, T57W
Image Dimensions
400 x 225 pixels
800 x 480 pixels
Image Aspect Ratio

5:3
Maximum File Size
1 MB
1 MB
Image File Types
png (preferred), jpg, jpeg, bmp
png (preferred), jpg, jpeg, bmp

When creating a background image it is important to keep the colors and placement in mind. You want an image that will not distract from the visibility of all buttons, date, time, and any other information on screen.  Look at your phone's screens to help determine the best image sizing and location.

Using the following images to illustrate size, color, and placement, we see the first image works perfectly on the T48S.

While the image above works perfectly on the T48S, the logo is too large and is placed too high on the screen for use on the T54W as the current date and time will be slightly obscured by the image. The following image is a little smaller and much lower so that it will work perfectly on the T54W.

Setting Custom Background Images From USB Storage Device

After you have created a background image that meets the requirements for your phone model(s):

1. Upload your image to your USB drive
2. Plug your USB drive into the USB port on your phone
3. Navigate to your phone menu and look for Menu > USB. Depending on your phone model, navigation could be Menu > Display > Wallpaper > USB
4. Navigate to Browse Photo
5. Select your image
6. Click on Set As
7. Select Set as Wallpaper
8. Return to home screen
9. Remove your USB drive from the USB port on your phone.

You will now see your chosen background image on your Yealink phone.

These settings will remain in effect until the phone has been set back to factory defaults or the phone's firmware has been upgraded.

Setting Custom Background Images From Penguin Servers

This is the best long-term solution as your images will always be preserved when the phone's firmware is upgraded, which happens periodically, or if the phone is ever set back to its factory defaults.

Methods to have your custom images added to the Penguin Servers and your phones
Self Curated
Penguin Curated
1. Edit your corporate logo to meet the criteria for your phone model(s)
1. Provide your corporate logo to the Penguin Support team
2. Provide the image(s) to the Penguin Support team

These settings will remain in effect even when the phone has been set back to factory defaults or the phone's firmware has been upgraded.

If you supply the correctly sized and formatted image files for the phones to Penguin, the inclusion of custom images is free. If you supply images that need to be edited to conform to the phone's specific size and format, there is a $250 Professional Services charge for Penguin to edit the images to conform to the required sizes and formats.
