Using Call Park On Any Phone
What Is Call Park
Call Park is a way to place a call on hold, but allowing anyone in your organization to retrieve that call from its hold. A call is placed on hold in a "parking space" by pressing a Call Park button that has been programmed on the phone. While a call is in a call park, anyone within your company may retrieve that call by pressing the Call Park button programmed on their phone. If the call is not picked up within 15
minutes , then the person who initiated the Call Park will automatically receive the call again.
15 minutes is our default duration for call park. Contact Penguin for any adjustments to the default duration.
Call Park Flow
1. Person A initiates call park (initiator of the call transfer)
2. Person B is on hold in parking space (5901,5902, or 5903)
3. If Person B is on hold in call park location for the defined time, then the call moved from being on hold in the call park location and is sent back to Person A
How To Use Call Park
-
To place the call in a parking space: while in a call, press one of the Call Park buttons programmed on your phone
-
To retrieve a call from a parking space: press the appropriate Call Park button programmed on your phone
You will know if a parking space is in use or not in use by looking at your phone's display. In the following image, parking space 1 and 3 are currently in use (calls are on hold in
parking space 1 and 3), and parking space 2 is currently not in use (no call is on hold in parking space 2).
Using the example above, you would press the Park 2 button to park the call you are currently in. This would place the call on hold in parking space 2, and the
available
status (
green
color person icon) would change from green to
busy
status (
red
color person icon).
If you were wanting to pick up the call in parking space 1, then you would press the Park 1 button. You would immediately be in a call with the person who had previously been in this parking space. You would also see the
busy
status
(
red
person icon) change from red to
available
status (
green
color person icon)
.
