Microphone On Windows 10 and 11

It is important to start with a working microphone on your computer. Follow the instructions provided by Microsoft. Test your microphone's operability before downloading and installing the Penguin Softphone for Windows. An inoperable microphone will not work on any installed application.

The "Make sure apps have access to the microphone" step they provide will be performed after the Penguin Softphone has been installed.


Download

To download and install the softphone application on your Windows device(s), click this link: https://softphone.callpenguin.com/Windows


Install

Open the downloaded executable and follow the prompts.

   
        



Adding Your Credentials To the Softphone

Check your email for your credentials and a QR code. You will be using the supplied information within this email to connect your Penguin Softphone application to your phone extension so that you can make and take phone calls. 

The email with your credentials will come from no-reply@mg.callpenguin.com

The email with your softphone credentials will have information similar to the information following:



You will need to use the combination of the Domain, Username, and Password to connect the softphone application to your phone extension. Scanning the QR code is generally used with smartphones.

Make sure to save this email for any future needs. Do not share this email or QR code with others as QR codes are not encrypted.


Entering Credentials


Once the softphone application is open for the first time you will need to add your credentials. 


1. . Type or paste the Domain value



2. Press the Next button (Leave the optional Proxy value blank)

3. Type or paste your Username and Password



4. Press the Login button

Your Penguin Softphone application is now installed
