Record an Automated Attendant Greeting
Do you need to record a new Automated Attendant Greeting or update an existing Automated Attendant Greeting?
You will need to go to the Recordings menu under Applications as shown below.
If you have a professional recording you would like to use, you can click the upload button and upload it to the system.
If you do not have a professional recording or a recording you have create on your computer and you'd like to record one from your new phone, use the following steps:
- Dial *732
- The system will ask you for a PIN, enter your PIN followed by #
(This PIN is provided by request. Each PIN is unique for each customer for security purposes. To request a PIN, contact support@callpenguin.com). - The system will then ask you for a recording ID. This recording ID is so you can identify the recording after it has been recorded.
- You can pick any number 1 - 9 as your recording ID.
- The system will then start recording.
- When you have finished recording, you can press # to end the recording.
- The recording will then playback for you, it will ask if you're happy with the recording or wish to re-record. If you do not hit 1 to save the recording the process will not be complete.
When recording, it is recommended to use the phone's handset or headset for improved audio quality. There is a higher likelihood of background noises and key press noises if using the speakerphone and microphone combination.
Follow the instructions on your phone and the recording will be saved in the portal as shown below:
In the Penguin user system interface, you can change the recording file name and description by clicking the pencil icon on the right side of the screen, and the following screen will pop up:
Once you've completed the recording and named it, you can go to the IVR menu and put your new recording in place for your Automated Attendant (IVR) Greeting.
