Making a Call from the Dialer

There are many ways in which to making phone calls.  The Dialer enables you to enter a number to place a call, and it displays a list of previously placed calls or contacts  in your directory.  You can also select the desired contact from the search list, the placed call list, or Directory.

Think of placing call as 1) selecting the audio devices and 2) dialing. The audio devices are:
  1. handset
  2. speaker and microphone built into the phone base
  3. wired or wireless headset (optional equipment)
Once you have selected the audio device you can make a phone call.

You may always switch between audio devices any time during a phone call by pressing the associated button with that device.

Switching to the handset can be done by lifting the handset off of the base, or by de-selecting the speaker or headset audio device, if the handset is already lifted from the base. Note that de-selecting an audio device could result in hanging up the active call if the handset is on the base.

Procedure
  1. D o one of the following:
    1. Pick up the handset
    2. press the Speakerphone key   or
    3. or the HEADSET key   or
    4. Select the desired line key
  2. Enter a number or highlight a contact
