Creating New Recordings

When we need to create recordings, we can so so from our phones by dialing *732, which spells REC (abbreviation for record). Follow are the steps to create new recordings and to replace existing recordings.
  1. Dial *732
  2. The system will ask you for a PIN/password, enter your PIN followed by #
    1. (This PIN is provided by request. Each PIN is unique for each customer for security purposes. To request a PIN, contact  support@callpenguin.com ).
  3. The system will then ask you for a recording ID . This recording ID is so you can identify the recording after it has been recorded.
    1. Pick any number 1 - 9 as your recording ID.
  4. The system will then start recording.
  5. When you have finished recording, press # to end the recording.
  6. The recording will then playback for you, it will ask if you're happy with the recording or wish to re-record. If you do not press 1 to save the recording the process will not be complete.
When recording, it is recommended to use the phone's handset or headset for improved audio quality. There is a higher likelihood of background noises and key press noises if using the speakerphone and microphone combination.

Note: Selecting a recording ID creates a new recording ID and the audio for that ID. However,  if a recording ID already exists the existing recording is automatically replaced with the new recording. Make sure you have selected the correct ID so you do not inadvertently overwrite existing recordings that were not meant to be replaced.

Replacing Existing Recordings

When we need to create new recordings to replace existing recordings, it is important to first know what recordings already exist, and what their recording IDs are. Knowing what recordings already exists will ensure an easy process of updating the audio within our auto attendant menus.
